Flower of God's Design

A Flower of God’s Design………….
A young preacher was walking with an older more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and the younger preacher, feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of the older preacher.
The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals. The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry. Because of his high respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact it wasn’t long before he realized how impossible it was to do so. Noticing the younger preacher’s inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it intact, the older preacher began to recite the following poem. “It is only a tiny rosebud, a flower of God’s design; but I cannot unfold the petals with these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers is not known to such as I. GOD opens this flower so sweetly. When in my hands they die. If I cannot unfold a rosebud this flower of God’s design. Then how can I have the wisdom to unfold this life of mine? So I’ll trust in Him for leading each moment of my day.

I will look to him for His guidance each step of the pilgrim way. The pathway that lies before me, only my Heavenly Father knows. I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments, just as He unfolds the rose”

Pictures of Jesus

The pictures of Jesus below come from four different traditions. Picture one is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci called The Baptism of Jesus, showing the moment when Jesus is being baptized by John the Baptist in the River Jordan.

The second is Jesus on a Russian orhtodoc icon. He is holding a book in which calls all the sufferers of the world to come to him.

The third picture is Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. This is an old book illustration from a Bible for children.

The fourth picture of Jesus is an ink drawing by Rembrandt. Here the figure of Jesus illuminates all other people around him, which is accentuated by the darkness around them.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

The Birth of Jesus Christ
18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

23″The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” which means, “God with us.”

24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

25But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
